Hello! I am a qualified professional counselor. I achieved my Diploma of Professional Counselling through the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors, and have Study Majors in ‘Relationships Counselling and Conflict Resolution,’ and ‘Abuse, Sexual Abuse and Trauma Counselling.’ I am currently studying majors in ‘Child Development and Effective Parenting’ I have Chaired Counselling Tasmania Incorporated, the Tasmanian affiliated branch of the Australian Counselling Association, I am currently the counsellor with Glamorgan Spring Bay Regional Health Services and have been the Southern Coordinator/Family Support Worker for ARAFMI Tasmania (Association for Relatives and Friends of people with Mental Illness) for three years, the Treasurer for the Tasmanian Family Therapy Association and I run a Private Counselling Practice in Hobart Tasmania and surrounding suburbs. I have further experience and knowledge in human services having worked in the fields of Mental Health, Intellectual Disability and Geriatric Nursing for many years, both in Tasmania and Queensland. I counsell with a gentle blend of Voice Dialogue Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Transactional Analysis Counselling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Therapy. I have coached children and adults for over 16 years and studied with the Equestrian Federation of Australia. I come from a long line of philosophers and teachers with my father, Dr. Ralph. H. Cruickshank, being a Doctor of Philosophy and has been a Senior Lecturer at the Tasmanian University , and my mother a teacher of Piano and music both privately and at many Primary and High Schools in Southern Tasmania. They are now both enjoying retirement. |
